Frequently Asked Questions

The Basics

Is ExperiencePH free?

Yes. ExperiencePH is a free community platform. We don't process payments, charge fees, or take commissions. Whether a host's time is free or paid is entirely between you and them, arranged directly.

How do I connect with a host?

Browse hosts and experiences in Discover, or post a trip so local hosts can find you. When you find someone interesting, open their profile and send them a message. From there you can plan a meetup together.

What is a trip plan?

A trip plan tells the community where you're headed and when. Hosts in your destinations get notified and can reach out — often the best connections start with a local saying hello first.

For Hosts

How do I become a host?

Click "Share Your Culture" in the navigation, create your profile, and describe the experiences you'd love to share. Our team reviews new host profiles for quality and authenticity.

Do I get paid for hosting?

That's up to you. Many hosts share their city for the joy of cultural exchange; others charge for guided experiences. Any payment is arranged directly between you and the traveler — ExperiencePH never takes a cut.

How do I get noticed by travelers?

Complete your profile with good photos, respond to messages promptly, and build up references from meetups. Turn on Trip Alerts in notification settings to hear when travelers plan trips to your area.

Safety & Trust

How are members verified?

Members verify their email address, and host profiles are reviewed before appearing on the platform. We recommend reading a member's profile and references before meeting, and meeting in public places for first meetups. ExperiencePH does not conduct background checks.

What are references?

After a meetup, both people can write a reference about each other. References are revealed once both sides have written one (or after 14 days), so they stay honest. They're the backbone of trust in the community — write them generously.

What if I have a problem with another member?
